Quantitative Decision-Making for Engineering Managers Graduate Certificate

The nine-credit Quantitative Decision-Making for Engineering Managers Certificate helps you develop skills for modeling and analysis of a wide variety of engineering problems, including but not limited to scheduling, inventory planning, logistics, and demand forecasting. The certificate can prepare you for a variety of careers, such as:

  • Product manager
  • Operations manager
  • Production and materials manager  
  • Supply chain analyst  
  • Procurement analyst or manager  

This stackable certificate, embedded within the Master of Engineering Management, helps you master skills such as:  

  • Product, service, and process development and analysis
  • Strategic planning and management
  • Risk analysis and decision-making under uncertainty
  • Decision models
  • Engineering economic analysis
  • Financial resource management

Courses

  • ENGMT 501 - Engineering Management Science
  • ENGMT 510 - Economics and Financial Studies for Engineers
  • SYSEN/ENGMT 536 - Decision and Risk Analysis in Engineering

You can earn this certificate in less than one year or complete it at your own pace. All courses must be completed with a minimum grade of C or better and an overall GPA of 3.0.

Stackable Certificate or Stand-alone Credential

You may earn this certificate by itself, or you can apply the courses toward the Master of Engineering Management if you apply to the master's program (no additional application fee) and are accepted. This stackable certificate offers you a valuable credential that shows your new expertise as you progress toward your master's degree. 

Up to 15 credits earned in any of these engineering management certificate programs may be transferred to the master's degree in engineering management, subject to restrictions outlined in GCAC-309 Transfer Credit.

Once you earn your certificate, you will receive a digital badge that you can display to recognize your professional growth. After successfully completing the required coursework, please submit the Graduate Certificate Completion Form. 

How to Apply

Please follow the Graduate Certificate Application Instructions to apply. The courses require a solid academic and/or professional background in engineering, mathematics, physics, or science.
