Our professors and students are highly active in research, publishing dozens of refereed journal articles each year, as well as contributing to conference proceedings and other publications. Many of our faculty members lead externally funded research projects and grants or contribute to industry‑sponsored research and interdisciplinary partnerships across Penn State campuses. Professors often involve graduate students as research assistants for these projects, offering them experiential learning opportunities.
Ongoing research groups and labs on campus—such as those focused on big data, machine learning, applied AI, and finance—create meaningful opportunities for integrating research with teaching, student mentorship, and community engagement.
