The big factors in my decision to attend Penn State were the brand name and its large alumni network. I found the master’s in engineering management curriculum was exactly what I was looking for. It was so well designed and well articulated. It has subjects from negotiations to supply chain to technical project management. It has a good and right amount of balance of the managerial aspects and also the engineering aspects, which will help me in whatever career aspirations I have going forward.
I am always indebted to the professors for all of the lectures which they have taught and the support they have given to us. The teaching was practical, and I could immediately relate to what they were talking about. I could understand instantly, and I could apply instantly.
There are really interesting workshops held on project management and Six Sigma. So these were some extra skills and extra certificates, which made a whole lot of difference when I was looking for a job.
Career Services laid a solid foundation with how our resumes and LinkedIn profiles should look and with interview preparations. At networking events and career fairs, you can directly connect with the people who are in the workforce. Many of my friends got a job because their classmates were working in a company and connected them. The alumni network is a big resource.

The Great Valley staff was amazing and helped me navigate through the degree. Personally, Penn State Global Engagement and Leadership Experience was a great experience where I made some amazing friends for a lifetime. Professionally, being in the LaunchBox Student Startup Project was my best experience. I edited videos, created content, and hosted some cool podcasts which will be released later. It was the most joyous and amazing experience.

I was working as a research assistant with iLink and Dr. Raghu Sangwan. It helped me a whole lot to put things in perspective. The things that I was learning in class, the things that I was taking tests on or doing my homework for, I actually got to apply right away at work. As an engineering manager, I can work in the creative domain, I can work in the analytics domain, and I can work in the business domain as well.
