Penn State Great Valley’s MNGMT 897 Global Immersion course trip to Strasbourg, France, took a while to get off the ground — literally. The course was first offered in spring 2020, but, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the international travel component was canceled just three days before the class was set to leave the United States. Three years later, Great Valley was able to hold the course with a successful trip abroad.
The ceremony recognized graduates from the 2021-22 academic years as well as from 2019-20, when graduates were unable to have an in-person commencement.
Retired Army Maj. Gen. John L. Gronski will come to Penn State Great Valley for a community discussion about leadership and book signing event at 5 p.m. Thursday, March 24.
At this year's convocation celebration, Great Valley honored Minyoung Cheong, assistant professor of management and organization; Richard Wall, adjunct instructor in the management division; Youakim Badr, associate professor of data analytics; and Ashkan Negahban, assistant professor of engineering management for their work and dedication to the campus.
Denise Potosky and John Sosik joined Penn State Great Valley in 1995 and have collaborated on research, mentored students, and seen the campus change and grow.
When the COVID-19 crisis transitioned Penn State to remote learning, faculty, staff and students adapted to make Great Valley's first global immersion field study a success.
