Curriculum and Schedule - Master of Science in Data Analytics

The Master of Science in Data Analytics program requires 10 courses, 30 credits total — five core courses, three electives, and a thesis paper that consists of six credits taken over two terms with required completion of CITI training. Students' recent thesis papers have focused on:

  • Information extraction and simplification from complicated medical notes
  • RNA sequencing
  • Disease prediction
  • Modeling resilience of economic infrastructures
  • Predicting Autism Spectrum Disorder based on genetic profiles

You will work with an assigned faculty advisor for your research. To graduate, your thesis must be accepted by a committee, the head of the graduate program, and the chancellor.

Students must also successfully complete the SARI (Scholarship and Research Integrity) requirement of the Penn State degree in order to graduate.

Students interested in enrolling in online World Campus classes in the summer 2025 semester should discuss course options with their faculty advisor. With advisor approval, Great Valley students may request enrollment in online classes via [email protected].
