The Master of Science in Data Analytics program requires 10 courses, 30 credits total — five core courses, three electives, and a thesis paper that consists of six credits taken over two terms with required completion of CITI training. Students' recent thesis papers have focused on:
- Information extraction and simplification from complicated medical notes
- RNA sequencing
- Disease prediction
- Modeling resilience of economic infrastructures
- Predicting Autism Spectrum Disorder based on genetic profiles
You will work with an assigned faculty advisor for your research. To graduate, your thesis must be accepted by a committee, the head of the graduate program, and the chancellor.
Students must also successfully complete the SARI (Scholarship and Research Integrity) requirement of the Penn State degree in order to graduate.
