As part of an ongoing grant from the National Science Foundation, Kathryn Jablokow, professor of engineering design and mechanical engineering at Penn State Great Valley, worked alongside Mohamed Megahed and Pratik Pachpute, two Great Valley graduate students, to study the effectiveness of entrepreneurial teams. Their research paper won second place in the entrepreneurial division of the American Society for Engineering Education.

A study by a Penn State Abington faculty member concluded that using a virtual-world technology to support student collaboration expanded the course's scope by improving engagement and facilitating team collaboration.

Penn State Great Valley professor John J. Sosik and former faculty member Jae Uk Chun received accolades from the Southern Management Association (SMA) for their collaborative paper titled “Leader feedback-seeking from subordinates and evaluation of leader effectiveness in leader-subordinate relationships: Subordinate expertise does matter.”

Kathryn Jablokow, associate professor of engineering design and mechanical engineering at Penn State Great Valley, is the recipient of the 2016 Ruth and Joel Spira Outstanding Design Educator Award from the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. She is only the second woman to receive this award since it was established in 2001.

Engineering professors Adrian Barb and Robin Qiu conduct real-time analysis in Penn State Great Valley's big data lab. Students enrolling in the new data analytics master's degree program will get hands-on experience through the lab.
