A new partnership between Penn State and the convenience store chain Sheetz will provide education benefits to the company’s employees, an initiative aimed at helping the employees complete their college degrees.
Penn State Great Valley is expanding its reach in the data analytics world by joining the Qlik Academic Program -- a partnership that includes a software donation of the state-of-the-art data analytics platform Qlik Sense.
James Nemes had considered establishing a scholarship for a while, and the Educational Equity Matching Program provided the perfect opportunity to do so and create a lasting impact on the campus.
Plans for Penn State’s Spring 2021 semester, announced Oct. 4, include a later start in January; continuation of the current flexible instructional modes, including in-person; the elimination of spring break; and completion of instruction for all undergraduate and graduate students by April 30. The University will maintain its observance of Martin Luther King Jr. day on Jan. 18 for students and faculty, when no classes will be held and Dr. King’s legacy will be celebrated through a number of virtual events.
Penn State University Police Deputy Chief Dale Osenbach recently graduated from Northwestern University’s Center for Public Safety following the completion of an extensive, in-residence program that provides advanced leadership training specific to law enforcement. Osenbach is the deputy chief for Penn State police stations in the Southeast District, which includes the Abington, Berks, Brandywine and Great Valley campuses.
Presented as part of the “Celebrating Research at Penn State Great Valley” series, the event will feature Sang Mook Lee, assistant professor of finance, and Minyoung (Min) Cheong, assistant professor of management and organization.
