Career Closet

Résumé? Check. Firm handshake? Check. Professional outfit?

Students preparing to attend interviews, career fairs, and networking events may not yet own business attire. To help, the Sustainability Committee manages the Career Closet as a resource to provide Great Valley students and alumni the opportunity to select free professional apparel as they prepare to meet potential employers.

We stock items that help students and alumni dress to impress at their next career-related event.

Access

The Career Closet is located on the second floor of the Conference Center Building in Room 212Q, and is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Donations

The clothing is donated by faculty, staff, alumni, and community members who believe in the value of students having access to quality professional attire. If you are interested in hosting a clothing drive at your business, and/or donating gently used business wear, please email [email protected].

We are collecting the following clean, new, or gently-used business professional or business casual items for all genders and body types:

  • Skirt suits
  • Pantsuits
  • Blouses
  • Blazers
  • Men's suits
  • Dress slacks
  • Sport coats
  • Dress shirts
  • Oxford shirts
  • Ties
  • Dresses
  • Skirts
  • Dress shoes
  • Belts

Due to storage limitations, we can't accept the following:

  • Items that are stained, ripped, missing buttons or don't have a match (if worn in a pair)
  • Apparel that is not appropriate for interviews
  • Evening wear or party dresses
  • Used cosmetics
  • Socks and nylons

To determine whether the item(s) you are considering donating are appropriate, ask yourself whether you would feel comfortable and confident wearing them on a job interview. If the answer is yes, then the clothing would be perfect for us!

We also hold and accept donations for our Move-In Day event for current students and recent graduates moving into a new apartment or home that needs essential living items. Details can be found here.

Donations are accepted at the Conference Center Building. Please feel free to leave your items at the reception desk if you’re unable to locate someone for assistance.
