Students may borrow up to the semester cost of attendance listed on their LionPATH account.
Eligible graduate students have an annual Direct Unsubsidized loan cap of up to $20,500.00 per academic year. This amount will typically cover the cost of six courses per year at Penn State Great Valley. The loan is awarded in semester portions up to $10,250.00 in the fall and spring semesters, as well as up to $10,250.00 in summer if funds remain in the student’s annual cap because the student decreased the fall and spring semester portions. In order to reserve loan funds for summer courses and mitigate student debt, students are strongly encouraged to decrease their loan offers to the smallest amount needed to cover semester costs.
Students whose semester costs exceed the Unsubsidized loan offer may apply for a Graduate PLUS Loan, which has a higher interest rate and requires a credit check.
