Former University of the Arts (UArts) students, faculty, staff and alumni will perform in "Still Creating" at 7 p.m. Oct. 1. "Still Creating" is a live, curated showcase of the performing arts that will honor the legacy of UArts after its unexpected closure in 2024. Performances will include music, spoken word, dance and theater:

Vocal artist Aaron Hill will sing "Rain" from the musical "Once on This Island," "A Song for Mama" by Boyz II Men, and "Jam Tonight" by Freddie Jackson.

Actor Jackie Marino-Thomas will perform monologue "bookends," one from her audition for UArts and one from the last show before graduating.

Multidisciplinary artist Timothy Day will perform "James Baldwin has an Appointment with the 21st Century," an improvised composition featuring loops from an interview with James Baldwin, samples of live audience participation, and assorted electronic instruments.

Jazz vocalist and pianist Bethany Harding will perform Alicia Keys' "If I Ain't Got You."
Penn State Great Valley is hosting both this event and an art gallery exhibit in the Conference Center Building on its campus, offering space for UArts performers to share their voices, stories and creative practices. This collective remembrance unites artists in resilience and celebrates a creative community that continues to thrive and inspire.
