MALVERN, Pa. — Speakers from the FBI, Vanguard, Wawa, Cerner, and Independence Blue Cross will converge at the Penn State Great Valley campus on Thursday, Nov. 16, for the annual Tech360 event.
Presented by ITAG and i2n, two nonprofit initiatives of the Chester County Economic Development Council, Tech360 provides an opportunity for Philadelphia-area IT professionals and thought leaders to discuss industry trends, cutting-edge technology, and the local business climate. Topics covered in the daylong event include cybersecurity defense, big data, blockchain, design thinking, Amazon Web Services, and IT leadership.
Tech360 will kick off with a keynote from Eric Barnes, senior manager of IT engineering at Wawa, about navigating the digital evolution of business. The day will also include breakout sessions and panel discussions, along with a talk on innovation from SeventySix Capital’s Wayne Kimmel.
According to the Economy League of Greater Philadelphia, more than 102,000 people in the region work in IT occupations, and area employers have added 25,000 new tech positions since 2002 — equivalent to 25 percent of all net job growth during that period. Between new jobs and replacement openings as current workers retire, it is projected that up to 44,000 positions may be added in the next decade.
The event will be held from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Conference Center Building. Registration is available on the Tech360 website.
