Biography
Cyndy Walton, holds a Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Florida, where she specialized in bioinorganic chemistry researching metallocene modified proteins for use as anti-cancer reagents. At the University of Florida, she earned the DuPont Teaching Award twice and the President’s Outstanding Student Award twice. She completed her postdoctoral studies at Rutgers University, where she worked with organometallic modified polymers for use as high temperature moisture sensors for use in the food industry and continued her work in organometallic modified proteins and analytical test method development. She earned her MBA with a concentration in healthcare and biotechnology and a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Penn State University.
Prior to joining Penn State Great Valley faculty, Dr. Walton was the Group Leader of Paper Chemicals for Houghton International and Research Scientists at Hercules, Inc. She holds several patents for commercially successful novel polymers used in the pulp and paper industry and developed a number of test methods for polymers and hydraulic fluids.
She enjoys teaching entrepreneurship, economics, organizational behavior, and strategic management.
