Each year the American Educational Research Association (AERA) receives tens of thousands of submissions for presenting at their annual conference. These presentations are typically submitted by faculty and doctorate students, but this year three Penn State Great Valley students: Lisa Slagel, Daniel Lunasin and Jared Auchey; from the school’s master of leadership development (MLD) program, had their empirical research study accepted. John J. Sosik, professor, management and organization, and Ravi Koul, associate professor, curriculum and instruction, who supervised the students, were proud of the students’ distinction.
“This is quite an accomplishment for master’s level students,” says Sosik. “Ravi and I are proud of Lisa, Daniel and Jared for carrying on an MLD tradition of outstanding students contributing their work to help shape the behavioral science and leadership fields at academic conferences.”
Their study, "Effects of Gender and School Context on Social Responsibility in Thai High Schools: A Person Versus Situation Analysis,” will be presented this April at the conference being held in Philadelphia.
