The Financial Analytics graduate certificate lays the foundations for students pursuing careers in corporate finance or as financial analysts. You will complete the program with the finance skills needed to handle real-world workplace applications.
Topics covered in the program include fundamental economics theory, knowledge about various financial instruments, financial planning methods, quantitative analysis tools and software for decision-making, portfolio management, valuation of fixed income securities and financial derivatives, and risk management in the global market.
Certificate earners are awarded a digital badge for each certificate they complete. Badges can be digitally displayed anywhere to recognize attaining a new level of knowledge.
Courses are offered in convenient, seven-week sessions, which are available in a hybrid delivery format, blending in-person and online class sessions.
Certificate Requirements
To be awarded the Financial Analytics graduate certificate, students must successfully complete nine credits of coursework consisting of three required credits and six elective credits. All courses must be completed with a minimum grade of C or better and an overall GPA of 3.0.
- Required: BUSAD 525 – Quantitative Methods in Finance
- Choose one: BA 831 – Foundations in Finance or MBADM 820 – Financial Management
- Choose one: BADM 834 – Portfolio Management, BUSAD 829 – Data Analysis in Finance or FIN 805 – Multinational Managerial Finance (Prerequisite: MBADM 820)

Admission Requirements
Applicants must hold either (1) a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited U.S. institution or (2) a tertiary (post-secondary) degree that is deemed comparable to a four-year bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited U.S. institution. International applicants may be required to satisfy an English proficiency requirement. The successful applicant is generally expected to have a minimum combined junior/senior grade-point average of 3.0 (B) on a 4.0 scale.
