MALVERN, Pa. — Penn State Great Valley will host a virtual networking session from 2 to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 10. Participants will have the opportunity to meet with campus professionals and Great Valley alumni representing separate areas of the Penn State Great Valley experience.
Through Zoom, participants will randomly be assigned to one of the breakout rooms and given 10 minutes to make connections in small groups before rotating to a new room, with rotations continuing until participants connect with each presenter.
“Virtual speed networking will allow prospective students the opportunity to network with key members of the Great Valley community, as well as alumni, in individualized breakout rooms, similar to what they would experience on campus,” said Academic Program Manager Michelle Chobor. “This holds value as there will be plenty of time for personal questions to be answered.”
The breakout rooms will cover a high-level overview of all programs; the admissions process; career services, job placement, internships, CPT and OPT; student experience, flexibility, diversity and work/life balance; and industry experience gleaned through the programs. Presenters will cover their specific area, so prospective students can ask in-depth questions in each session.
Questions covered include:
- What programs are offered?
- Do I need to take the GRE/GMAT?
- What does a typical evening on campus look like?
- How can a program at Great Valley help advance my career?
- Will there be other students who are working professionals like me?
- What type of support will I receive from career services?
- Will you help me obtain a job post graduation?
Attendees will receive contact information for all presenters after the event so one-on-one appointments can be set up. Click here to register.
