Students

All students are required to have a Penn State Access Account and a University Photo ID.

For New Students: An email from Identity Services at Penn State University will be sent to your personal email account once you are in Matriculated Status. The email will provide instructions on how to set up your Access Account.

A Penn State Access Account is a digital identity for students, faculty, and staff, and provides users access to University online resources, services, and community while maintaining a huge level of security.

The Photo ID is taken in the Registrar's Office, and can be taken after your Access Account has been activated.

LionPATH Student Center

LionPATH is the new student information system which provides students with the access to their academic, registration, and financial records. Students can enroll for classes, view/accept their financial aid rewards, and view their tuition bills.

The LionPATH Student Center provides you easy access to the information you will use regularly.  The information is grouped into logical sections and can be easily accessed using links and drop-down lists.

  • The Academics section contains information related to enrollment and scheduling.  Once you have enrolled in classes, your class schedule will be displayed in this section.
  • The Finance section contains information related to your account balance and financial aid.  This includes the ability to view, accept, and decline financial aid.
  • The Personal Information section contains your name, email, phone and address information.  In addition, your emergency contact information is available and can be updated using this section.

Note: The first time you access LionPATH you will provide your consent to do business electronically.  This consent will be required annually.

Prior to each semester's enrollment, a "Pre-Registration Activity Guide" will appear on your record. It contains a Financial Responsibility Agreement as well as Emergency Contact Information, both of which are required to be completed each semester. Completing this activity guide will release the Financial Responsibility hold and allow you to enroll during your enrollment window.

You will be notified via your Penn State email when the Pre-Registration Activity Guide is available for you to complete. At this time, the Financial Responsibility hold will also be placed on your record. You can access the Activity Guide by clicking on the link included in the email or it can be accessed from the Student Center in LionPATH.

The University Registrar's website has a helpful FAQ's page regarding LionPATH.
