Parhum Delgoshaei received his B.S. in electrical engineering from University of Tehran, his M.S. in electrical engineering from Western Michigan University, and his Ph.D. in Engineering Education from Virginia Tech. His research interests include design of hybrid microgrids utilizing renewable and combined heat and power and sources, design and implementation of  smart energy systems, and deterministic and stochastic optimization of distributed energy resources deployed within microgrids. He has developed information infrastructures for remote labs to support education for microgrids, distributed energy resources, energy efficiency, and battery energy storage systems at the residential and commercial building scales. He has developed and taught graduate courses in distributed energy planning and management and commercial solar electric systems, and undergraduate courses in photovoltaic systems design and construction and building energy efficiency.
