Business Analysis plays a critical role in the success of a project. This is even more evident in an Agile environment, where the process supports reduced development time and reduced defects.

This will one-day course will introduce participants to the framework and theories of Agile and Scrum Methodologies. Students will discover the benefits of transitioning from a waterfall or traditional environment, and learn how business analysts, product owners, and other key personnel can impact the lifecycle of all. They will learn how to properly manage user stories from a theme level to an epic level to a user story level. Additional topics include product backlog, user personas, story slicing, non-functional requirements, and user interface design (mock-up screens). Students will also complete a series of hands-on exercises and simulations based on predetermined case studies.
Penn State is a Project Management Institute (PMI®) Registered Education Provider (R.E.P.). PMPs earn 7 Professional Development Units (PDUs).
This course is approved by the Innovative Technology Action Group (ITAG). Partial scholarships are available from ITAG through a training grant from the PA Department of Labor and Industry.
