Leveraging AI in Project Management Course

Explore how artificial intelligence can enhance project planning, decision‑making, and team performance. Stay ahead of rapid change with this accessible professional development course on how to use AI to streamline workflows and support stronger project outcomes. 

This course will be delivered remotely via Zoom. 

Dates: Tuesdays, April 14 – May 5 
Time: 6 to 8:30 p.m.

This new offering launches as part of Penn State Great Valley’s ongoing initiative to explore innovative, AI‑driven professional development programs. This course introduces project managers to emerging AI tools and methods that are reshaping how modern projects are planned, executed, and delivered. 

Because the field is evolving quickly, course content focuses on high‑impact concepts and adaptable skills rather than rigid technical detail. Students will explore real‑world use cases, hands‑on exercises, and current AI applications that can be immediately brought back to their teams and organizations.

Walk away with a clearer understanding of where AI fits within the project management landscape and how to use it responsibly, ethically, and effectively.

AI in Project Management Course Objectives

Students will learn to:

  • Understand how AI technologies can streamline project workflows, improve forecasting, and support data‑driven planning.
  • Recognize ethical, governance, and transparency considerations when introducing AI into project environments.
  • Apply AI‑supported approaches to planning, communication, risk assessment, and performance monitoring.
  • Evaluate common AI‑powered tools and determine which solutions best fit various project needs.
  • Identify risks, limitations, and biases associated with AI use and apply strategies for balanced human‑AI collaboration.
  • Build foundational knowledge of core AI concepts—such as machine learning, natural language processing, and predictive analytics—as they relate to project work.

Continuing Education Units

Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are awarded based on a standard of one unit per ten (10) hours of classroom contact.
