SWENG 5173: 7 sessions, 21 hours (2.1 CEUs)
Time: 6–9:00 p.m.
By developing Android applications, advanced programmers expand their Java skills to a creative outlet. Android Application Development will cover the fundamentals of building an app through a variety hands-on projects. Students will learn basic user interface design in addition to data storage and web services. By the end of the 7-week course, students will be able to develop their own dynamic app.
Course Scope and Sequence
This 21-hour course consists of face-to-face lecture and class discussion that will cover the basics app development. Students will also get hands-on experience with the Android Studio.
Individuals must have experience with Object-Oriented Java programming to enroll in this course.
Who Should Attend
Android Application Development is appropriate for intermediate programmers with experience in object-oriented programming. The course is also suited for students who completed Introduction to Programming Concepts Using Java and Object-Oriented Java Programming.
Students will learn how to develop working Android apps using the Android Studio, create a user interface, save and use data from a database, and deploy to the app store.
Continuing Education Units
Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are awarded based on a standard of one unit per ten (10) hours of classroom contact.
