Author and food historian Becky Libourel Diamond will share the history of Victorian era chocolate at a free public event held in Penn State Great Valley's Conference Center. Diamond will share the history behind the time period’s most popular chocolate indulgences and explain why this now-ubiquitous treat wasn’t fully integrated into American culture until the late 19th century. Each participant will receive a chocolate sampling from America's oldest continuously operating confectionery shop, Shane Confectionery.
