Catering Process

Option 1:  Select Caterer

Our select caterers have decades of award winning catering experience and we make sure the catering process easy for you. You will work directly with the select caterer to choose a menu or customize your catered meals and breaks.  You will be invoiced directly by the caterer. Please review all delivery charges with your caterers. Conference Services office will oversee the set-up and break-down with the select caterers, so you have no worries once your menu has been decided and your date and times confirmed.    

Client may arrange for a cocktail reception following a training event with prior approval through the Conference Services office. Your select caterer provides the TIPS certified bartender, and will work with you to create an event to achieve the networking environment that you are planning in a dedicated space in the Conference Center Building.  

Option 2:  Outside Caterer

Client may request approval to use an outside caterer (a caterer NOT on our Select Caterer list). Request must be made 2 weeks in advance of event to provide sufficient time to process the liability insurance documentation through our University Risk Management office. If outside caterer is approved, Client will incur a surcharge (20% of client’s Conference Center event total) to be added to client’s Conference Center Invoice issued from Penn State Great Valley. Outside caterer must provide the University with the appropriate Liability Insurance to University Risk Management office.
