Finance Graduate Certificates

Finance Graduate Certificates

Penn State Great Valley offers two graduate certificates in finance—one in Corporate Finance and one in Financial Risk Management—that are designed for individuals who seek a skill set in specific areas of finance. Whether you are a recent college graduate, who is considering a graduate degree or seeking a career in finance; a master’s degree holder, who wishes to tack on a specialization; or an established professional looking to update your credentials and expand your expertise, these certificates are designed to meet your needs.

Admission Requirements

Applicants must hold either (1) a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited U.S. institution or (2) a tertiary (post-secondary) degree that is deemed comparable to a four-year bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited U.S. institution. This degree must be from an officially recognized degree-granting institution in the country in which it operates. The successful applicant is generally expected to have a minimum combined junior/senior GPA of 3.0 (B) on a 4.0 scale.

Current Penn State Great Valley graduate students in all programs are also welcome to apply and enroll in this certificate.

Certificate Requirements

To be awarded either graduate certificate, students must successfully complete 12 credits* of course work. The corporate finance certificate curriculum consists of 12 required credits, while the financial risk management certificate consists of 9 required and 3 elective credits. All courses must be completed with a minimum grade of C or better and an overall GPA of 3.0.
