Penn State Great Valley hosted its 11th annual golf outing at Applecross Country Club in Downingtown on May 16. The event exceeded its goal and raised $32,000 to support Great Valley student scholarships.
Roger Brindley, vice provost for Penn State Global; Andrea Dowhower interim vice president for Student Affairs; and Renata Engel, vice provost for online education, share resources available for individuals who have been impacted by the earthquake in Syria and Turkey, as well as ways to help with the rescue and recovery.

Colin Neill has been named chancellor, dean and chief academic officer of Penn State Great Valley, effective Jan. 1, 2023. Neill is assuming the role on a permanent basis after serving as interim chancellor since July. He succeeds James A. Nemes, who retired last summer.
Penn State has named Ed Beckwith, a 1971 graduate of the Eberly College of Science who has led initiatives across the institution, and Joe Henry, a 1976 alumnus of the College of Health and Human Development who has driven forward projects at Penn State Great Valley, as the 2022 Fundraising Volunteers of the Year. The awards will be presented at a special ceremony this fall.
A new look and feel will greet visitors to Penn State’s Commonwealth Campus websites beginning June 21. The refreshed websites, which apply to each of the University’s Commonwealth Campuses, are the result of in-depth research on user needs and best practices, resulting in modern, mobile-friendly and engaging sites that highlight the power of Penn State’s campus communities.

The Penn State Great Valley School of Graduate and Professional Studies held a LaunchBox Showcase on April 5 to highlight opportunities for student and community entrepreneurs at the Great Valley LaunchBox powered by Penn State. At the event, campus officials announced the creation of the James A. Nemes Endowment for the Great Valley LaunchBox in honor of the campus’ chancellor, who is retiring in July.
